Name: Emily (Emma) Wilson
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Position: Political Affairs Intern

Fundraising Goal: $500

How did you get interested in global issues?
After realizing my interests in world languages, journalism, politics, and helping people, I decided that the best way to integrate my interests was to study global issues and pursue a career path in international relations.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
I believe it is my responsibility to use my privilege and voice to help those who are suffering at the hands of poverty. Poverty is a surprisingly simple global issue to fix, and I want nothing more than to be part of the solution.

Any interesting tidbits to share?
One of my hobbies is studying/practicing Spanish, so I can connect with people around the globe.

My compassion/humility list:
I will do the following for any friends or family who donates in my honor…

  1. Cook a homemade dinner
  2. Make you a scented candle
  3. Clean your kitchen or bathroom(s)
  4. Thank you publicly on social media
