Emily Moudiotis

Name: Emily Moudiotis
Location: London, United Kingdom
Role: Political Affairs Team Member

Fundraising Goal: £400

How did you get interested in global issues?
My interest in politics and global affairs was springboarded during my degree in which I focused on security and human rights issues.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
The UK’s political landscape is currently dominated by the war in Ukraine, the cost-of-living crisis, political instability and the effects of the pandemic. Therefore, the work of The Borgen Project is more important than ever. It’s easy for the public and political leaders to divert their focus away from addressing extreme poverty. It is therefore vital to ensure that those who need aid the most are not forgotten about. I am passionate about raising awareness and helping to drive action towards alleviating poverty and promoting sustainable development. My strong desire to engage in meaningful work that benefits others is coupled with a responsibility to give something back.

Any interesting tidbits to share?
I love playing hockey, travelling, movies and music, and am able to play several instruments. I am also obsessed with my dog!

My Compassion/Humility List
I will do the following for any friends and family who donate in my honor.

  • Donate £50 and I will cook you Greek food for dinner.
  • Donate £20 and I will organise your wardrobe and dresser drawers.
