Name: Emily Beaver
Location: Bryan, Ohio
Position: Writer Intern

Fundraising Goal: $500

How did you get interested in global issues?
After watching a news story about people living in poverty, I wanted to do something to help their situation. Though I cannot be there physically with them, through my writing, I am there mentally with them.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
For many of these people, their voices are not heard in powerful countries that could make a difference. The Borgen Project is providing me with valuable information in regards to global poverty and what I can do to be apart of the solution.

Any interesting tidbits to share?
I love to write and read. Though not many people believe me, I am a twin.
