Name: Eleanora Kamerow
Location: State College, Pennsylvania
Position: Writer Intern

Fundraising Goal: $700

How did you get interested in global issues?
My mother is a large proponent of individual freedom and political involvement. As such, I’ve always loved the idea of getting out into the world to try and help others—this just happens to be my first real opportunity.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
I have family in third world nations and have never known how to help despite wanting to. The Borgen Project felt like the perfect fit as a way to combine my writing abilities with my humanitarian goals.

Any interesting tidbits to share?
My one real passion outside of writing and academics is singing. It’s something I’ve done since childhood, and I took lessons throughout high school.

My compassion/humility list:
I will do the following for any friends or family who donates in my honor…

  1. Perform a song at any event of your choosing for a donation of $25
  2. Drive you around town for a day for a $50 donation
  3. Clean your home and cook dinner for a $100 donation
