Dhillon Chand

Name: Dhillon Chand
Location: Wolverhampton, United Kingdom
Role: HR Team Member

Fundraising Goal: £400

How did you get interested in global issues?
On the surface, it was mainstream media that had shed light on some issues. Igniting my interest was my studies at A-Level, learning of sociological theories on the prevalence and perpetuation of poverty that was often caused directly by Western society. Hence why I am a part of The Borgen Project, they recognise this issue and are actively trying to resolve it.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
I believe that everyone deserves access to basic human needs and opportunities, and I am committed to contributing to this cause through research, writing, and reaching out to policymakers. Though poverty is a complex issue with many underlying causes, I am dedicated to making a positive impact, however little, and using my skills and knowledge to alleviate poverty and improve the lives of those who are most in need.
