I am volunteering because I have always had a passion to help others. I believe the UK government has the capacity to help those in absolute poverty. I also believe that a rising tide lifts all boats, meaning a benevolent foreign policy would ultimately assist our nation too. The world is more interconnected than ever. This hyper-global society we live in means that notions of isolationism will eventually prove futile. An exchange of aid, ideas and even people is the best solution to this novel era of international relations. We can tackle issues together, as global citizens.
