Name: Dalia Banna
Location: Valencia, California
Position: Political Affairs Intern

Fundraising Goal: $500

How did you get interested in global issues?
My interest in global issues ignited when I began participating in the Model United Nations class during my freshman year in college. During my research, I realized that many third world countries are suffering due to the lack of resources that wealthy countries are able to provide.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
I am volunteering to serve the world’s poor because I envision the goals that are set to end global poverty along with the steps that need to be taken are doable. In my opinion, if enough citizens worldwide take a step towards donating, raising awareness, and persuading further government actions; global poverty will end, diminishing the wealth gap that exists and is slowly growing.

Any interesting tidbits to share?
My hobbies are makeup, artistry and hiking. I like the outdoors as much as I love looking pretty. My main goal is to get to reach the UN and work in third world countries as an International Lawyer of Human Rights.

My compassion/humility list:
I will do the following for any friends or family who donates in my honor…

  1. $75: Clean the house
  2. $80: Babysit for four hours
  3. $100: Clean the garage
  4. $85: Facial and makeover
