Crystal Nyarko

Name: Crystal Nyarko
Location: London, United Kingdom
Role: Nonprofit Leadership Team Member

Fundraising Goal: £400

How did you get interested in global issues?
I have always been inquisitive about the global disparities income distribution. Through my Politics undergraduate degree and masters in Development Studies I have become more knowledgeable about global inequalities and I am now particularly keen to help eradicate global poverty.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
I am in support of the work The Borgen Project has done surrounding global poverty. I believe that the best way to tackle global poverty is in engaging political leaders as they have the power to influence polices that can impact foreign affairs, and therefore ameliorate global poverty.

Any interesting tidbits to share?
In my free time I indulge in art, I love art that looks at the struggles of African Americans. My favourite artist has always been Kehinde Wiley.

My Compassion/Humility List
I will do the following for any friends and family who donate in my honor.

  • Cake Sale.
  • Community work: picking litter, helping elderly people with gardening.
