How did you get interested in global issues?
My interest in Global affairs started with reading articles and watching documentaries about the world’s poor. It’s very sobering to see people’s lives uprooted and essentially destroyed by things such as natural disasters, war/political strife, and cyclical poverty. The people affected by these issues are often not brought into light. They aren’t just people that exist in magazines or articles or commercials. They’re real people, just like you and I. And just like you and I, their lives matter. Many misconceptions I once held were corrected by new information I obtained through The Borgen Project. Seeing the solving of global issues as an investment was the main impetus for my participation.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
All the time that I spend idly scrolling through my phone, or lying in bed, or just doing absolutely nothing compounds into a rather alarming amount. Out of all the time I spend messing around, surely at least some of it can be used to help those in need.

Any interesting tidbits to share?
I enjoy video games, shopping, painting (very poorly) and tea!
