I am volunteering as an intern for The Borgen Project because I want to help spread awareness of the global poverty crisis. The majority of people do not know the extent of the global poverty crisis, especially in the case of Sub-Saharan Africa, where poverty has actually been growing instead of shrinking. Knowing this, I would like to use my position as a Political Affairs intern with The Borgen Project as a tool to help raise as much money as possible to help combat global poverty, which also raising awareness for such an important cause. My interest in the global poverty issue is a fairly simple one, it is simply the right thing to do. I would like to encourage as many people as possible to join me in fundraising and spreading awareness of the importance of the global poverty crisis.
