How did you get interested in global issues? I’ve always been fascinated by U.S. foreign policy and defense policy. The effects of the Global War on Terror on vulnerable populations around the world is of particular interest to me.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor? I want to be able to raise awareness about corrupt systems of power that create a cycle of generational poverty, so that people can better understand what creates the condition of poverty. Being able to write about these systems in a journalistic way while also being able to lobby legislators to provide assistance is a privilege.

Any interesting tidbits to share? Reading, watching movies, and playing video games. I have a tattoo of an eye on my forearm, and I like to think that that’s pretty cool.
