How did you get interested in global issues?
With immigrant parents who grew up in India, I have learned a great deal about Indian life and culture. Through my annual visits to India, I have witnessed how poverty can negatively impact an individual’s independence, happiness, and quality of life. Through these experiences, I am motivated to learn more about global issues in order to make a difference.
Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
I am volunteering my time to serve because I believe poverty is an issue that the United States has the potential to make a huge impact in. Living in a privileged nation inspires me to be involved in issues around the world so that they too, can experience a life of happiness and success.
Any interesting tidbits to share?
