Angus Coleman

Name: Angus Coleman
Location: Scotland, United Kingdom
Role: Writer/Journalist Team Member

Fundraising Goal: £400

How did you get interested in global issues?
The first political event I took interest in was the Scottish Independence Referendum when I was twelve years old. While I didn’t really understand it fully at the time, it precipitated a deeper interest in politics and global affairs that stayed with me into adulthood.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
Writing and journalism are my main interests, and I’m deeply honoured to have been given this opportunity to pursue those while also working for a vitally important cause. The fact is, we still live in a highly unequal world, and I decided it was finally time to be part of a group striving for solutions to this problem, and shining light on the tremendous work of others.

Any interesting tidbits to share?
I live in Scotland, and thus my constituency is represented by both an MP in Westminster and an MSP in Holyrood. I am therefore excited to advocate for the enaction of poverty-reducing legislation by both the UK and Scottish Governments.
