Name: Angela Dong
Location: Santa Barbara, California
Fundraising Goal: $500
How did you get interested in global issues?
I have a desire to educate myself on the events occurring outside of my immediate personal life and country. I like to keep up with global events, and I am an avid reader of the news.
Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
This is a topic that desperately needs attention and volunteering is one of the better ways to spend my free time.
Any interesting tidbits to share?
I play professional ultimate and bartend at a luxury resort. I’ve driven coast to coast across the United States three times and been to 20-something U.S. National Parks.
My compassion/humility list:
I will do the following for any friends or family who donates in my honor…
- $50: Cook a two-course meal (main and dessert)
- $75: Bartend at your next event/ party
- $100: Design a personalized cocktail menu
