Hi! I’m Alice and I’m fundraising for The Borgen Project. Having undertaken a degree in Sociology, I am passionate about addressing global issues and inequalities, and I firmly believe that global poverty is an urgent matter that desperately needs greater attention. Currently, the suffering of 719 million people living in extreme poverty across the world is being neglected by Western powers, given the current political climate with ongoing conflicts, the COVID-19 crisis and the cost-of-living crisis, which has contributed to even more people falling into extreme poverty worldwide. The US and the UK both have the power to reduce and rectify these inequalities, and it is The Borgen Project’s mission to hold these governments accountable.
