This underscores the importance of addressing global poverty as a current concern, as it is often a significant driver behind mass migration from economically disadvantaged nations to wealthier ones. By actively supporting initiatives that aim to tackle poverty, the UK can actively contribute to a comprehensive solution that tackles the issue at its core. Having witnessed the inequities in the migration crisis of 2015, issues surrounding migration and poverty have proven to be long term ones.
