Name: Aiza Mahmood
Location: Rotherham, United Kingdom
Role: HR Team Member

Fundraising Goal: £400

How did you get interested in global issues?

Following the news and media sparked my interest in global affairs; reading about the current events in places like Turkey and Palestine made me believe that privileged people in developed countries should do more to aid humanity.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?

I want to volunteer to serve the world’s poor to directly and positively impact the lives of people in need. Volunteering can expose me to new perspectives and cultures I may not have experienced otherwise. This will help me better understand and appreciate the world’s diversity and the challenges that different communities face.

Any interesting tidbits to share?

I am a passionate reader, my current favourite book is before the coffee gets cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi. I’m fascinated by makeup because, like with paintings and drawings, I think it’s an artistic medium through which you can express yourself. I have done makeup on myself and others since I was 10 years old!

My Compassion/Humility List
I will do the following for any friends and family who donate in my honor.

  • £35 – Full face makeup with lashes.
  • £20 – Henna designs on both hands.
  • £50 – Full face makeup and henna.
