Name: Abbi Powell
Location: Telford, UK
Fundraising Goal: $$500
How did you get interested in global issues?
By engaging with the news and becoming curious about what was being done about issues that are perfectly capable of being solved if enough people take an interest.
Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
Because fundamentally I believe that poverty is a solvable problem, and in my opinion it is our moral duty to make an effort to help those who need it. Everyone is capable of making a difference, even if it feels like as an individual you don’t have much influence.
Any interesting tidbits to share?
I’m a big reader of both fiction and non-fiction.
