Name: Aaron Templin

Position: Journalism Intern

Fundraising Goal: $500

How did you get interested in global issues?
I became attracted to global issues through mainstream media. Media has become such a valuable tool in spreading information and allowing communities to form their own opinions on specific topics. Mainstream media can be beneficial by bringing awareness while it can also serve as a disadvantage by minimizing the significance of certain issues. Through these experiences, my interest in bringing proper awareness and positive change to global issues started.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
Obtaining the journalism internship for The Borgen Project has already made me more aware of how serious global poverty is. Many countries and people are suffering from significant issues that touched my heart from a personal and professional standpoint. Through this, I chose to take part in the program in order to do my part in advocating for the world’s poor.
